About Indian Army:

           The Indian Army is the land-based branch and the largest component of the Indian Armed Forces. The President of India serves as the de-jure Commander-in-Chief of the army While the de-facto leadership lies with Minister of defense, and it is commanded by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), who is a four-star general. Two officers have been conferred the rank of Field marshal, a five-star ranked general, which is a ceremonial position of great honor. The Indian Army originated from the armies of the East India Company, which eventually became the British Indian Army and finally the national army after independence. The units and regiments of the Indian Army have diverse histories and have participated in a number of battles and campaigns across the world, earning a large number of battle and theatre honors before and after Independence.

How to Apply:
  1. The eligible candidates can only apply online. To do so the candidates needs to click on the “online application” button on website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in
  2.  While filling online application it is advisable to keep the relevant documents readily available as details are to be filled as per matriculation and other educational certificates.
  3. After submitting the form and acknowledgement of successful submission generated roll number the buttons of print and save the application will appear. It is advisable to first save the online application and then take a print out.
  4. The candidates are required to obtain two copies of the application printout. One copy of print out application duly signed and affixed photograph attested by Gazzetted Officer thereon and 10th Class certificate, 12th Class certificate, Degree/Provisional Degree and mark sheets of eight semesters of B.E/B.Tech, all in original along with two attested photocopies of all the above certificates are to be carried out to the Selection Centre by the candidate. Original will be returned after verification by the Selection Centre.
  5. The second copy of the print out of online application is to be retained by the candidate for his reference
