Have Knowledge on SQL Server 2000 and 2005 Architecture (Physical DatabaseStructure, Logical Database Structure, and Memory Structures etc), TSQLCommands. Monitoring & Troubleshooting Blocking and Deadlock (Be able to killBlocked or deadlock process, spid).

Understand howconnectivity is established between servers (Remote Access –Connecting remoteserver using QA, EM, and TS) Managing DB backups.
Startup and Shutdown SQL server InstanceExecution of DBCC Commands (OPENTRAN (DBName) , SQLPERF(LOGSPACE) , checkdb ,shrinkfile , shrinkdatabase , indexdefrag , dbreindex, etc) Create and updatemaintenance plan for database maintenance.
Monitor and understand the error logand event log Monitor the disk space on the server and take action accordingly(Including Data files, Transaction log files, tempdb database).
